**How to Add Cengage eText Link to Your D2L Course**

NOTE: **For most colleges, "eText Only" Colorado Online courses will have the eText delivered via your college bookstore. If your pooled course is using the full Publisher Online Platform for MindTap, you will need to ****[connect the course with the homework platform](https://help.cccs.edu/space/KnowledgeBase/35225964/How+to+Set+Up+Cengage+MindTap+in+MyCourses+By+Bringing+in+Your+Own+Links)**** and not just the eBook. MindTap will always include the eBook. **The following instructions apply ONLY if your course is going to have the eText delivered via the publisher, Cengage. 

In your D2L course, in the area where you would like to bring in your eText link, choose **Existing Activities > Cengage Content** (you will see the course teaching college written in parentheses). You may be asked to log into Cengage. If you are, you will first need a Cengage account. If you unable to create one yourself, you will need to request one from your college's Cengage representative.

Once you are able to access Cengage, click on **Add eBook**:

Search for the textbook you need, and once you have found it, click **Link Individual Chapters**.

If you would like students to access the entire textbook, choose the outermost checkbox next to the full eBook. You can also link to any individual chapter if you would like students to be directed to a specific part of the book or "start" their textbook from a specific section.

After clicking Continue, you will see your new eText link(s) in your D2L course.

If you would like to change the title of this link in the course, you can do so by clicking the **action triangle next to the link**, and choosing **Edit Properties in Place **:

Then you can type in your preferred title:
