## Linking an Achieve course to D2L

1. Navigate to the D2L Course Builder by either of the following methods.
 1. From Course Admin:
To access the Course Builder, navigate to the navigation bar and select **More Tools**, then choose **Course Admin**. On the Course Admin page, locate **Course Builder**, which can be found under **Site Resources** if the page is categorized, or alphabetically if sorted by name.
 2. From Content:
Navigate to Content and select the top level of the Table of Contents. Just under the page title, there is a button labelled **Related Tools**. Click this button and select Course Builder.
If shown a Course Builder Welcome page, click the Start button (note that this page is generally only shown once unless you select the option to **always show this welcome page**.)
2. In the left pane of the page, in the second grouping of items (Add Content), you will find a red ‘wing’ M shape. If you hover over that icon, you will see a tool tip stating, ‘new Macmillan Course Builder’. Click this icon.
3. You will need to select an area where this initial content will be created. We recommend that this initial item be created in a module that is hidden from students.
4. Click **Connect with Achieve**.
Note: If a new window or tab does not open, [disable pop-up blockers](https://mhe.my.site.com/macmillanlearning/s/article/Deep-integration-troubleshooting-for-instructors#blank).
5. Enter your Macmillan credentials and click **Submit** (see step one if you do not have a Macmillan account).
Note: If you do not use the same e-mail address that is associated with your Achieve course, it will not show as available to link to D2L or you will receive a message that you do not have a Macmillan account. If you are unable to move past this stage, see the [LMS integration troubleshooting](https://mhe.my.site.com/macmillanlearning/s/article/Deep-integration-troubleshooting-for-instructors?r=529&ui-knowledge-components-aura-actions.KnowledgeArticleVersionCreateDraftFromOnlineAction.createDraftFromOnlineArticle=1) article.
6. Continue with sign-on or provisioning.
7. Click **Continue**.
8. Click **Authenticate**.
9. Check the box for **Do not ask me again for this application** and click **Continue**.
10. Click **Continue.**
11. Locate your Achieve course and click **Associate**.
Be sure to double-check that the course name and course ID match the course you would like to connect to D2L.
Note: If you do not see an Achieve course as available to associate, or the Associate button for it is greyed out, please see the [LMS troubleshooting](https://mhe.my.site.com/macmillanlearning/s/article/Deep-integration-troubleshooting-for-instructors#associate) article.

12. Click **Yes, Associate This Course**.
13. Click **OK**.
14. Close the confirmation page.

15. Return to Macmillan Course Tools.
Your Achieve course is now linked to D2L and the Macmillan Learning tools will be re-displayed with a number of new tool links. Explanations of the functions of these tools are available in the help article [Using Macmillan Course Tools in your D2L/Brightspace course](https://mhe.lightning.force.com/articles/Knowledge/Using-Macmillan-Course-Tools-in-your-Canvas-course).
