When adding VHL content to your D2L pooled course, if you do not see any sections available in **VHL Quicklink** inside **Existing Activities** after logging in to VHL, you will need to go to [vhlcentral.com](http://vhlcentral.com), log in, and create your section there first.

**Step 1:** First choose the right material for the course (in this example, the Espaces textbook). Under Courses, choose “**add+**” or “**Add Course**” below that to create a new course.

**Step 2: **You will then be prompted to start creating your course, first by giving it a title and start/end dates. Click **Next**.

**Step 3:** You will see a series of Content settings that you can customize as you’d like in your course. When you are finished choosing these settings, click **Next.**

**Step 4: **For your VHL Gradebook settings, you can click **Get Started** if you’d like a tutorial, or go ahead and choose **Add Category** to start creating your Gradebook categories.

**Step 5:** Go through each of the gradebook settings and configure it as you’d like.

**NOTE:** Keep in mind that for the total of category weights, the percentages must add up to 100%, or VHL will not let you save the Gradebook.

**Step 6:** Once you have finished, you will see a summary of all of your course settings that you have just created. If everything looks good, click Save.
