This article explains how to save a Google Sheets document as a Microsoft Excel file.

## 1. Introduction

You will learn the steps to export your spreadsheet in the Excel (.xlsx) format for use outside Google Sheets.

### 2. Access File Menu

Click the "File" menu in the top-left corner to access document options.

### 3. Export As Excel File

Select "Download” then “Microsoft Excel (.xlsx)" from the download options to save your spreadsheet in Excel format.

You have successfully saved your Google Sheets document as a Microsoft Excel file. This allows you to use your spreadsheet data in Excel or share it with users who prefer the Excel format.
