## Setup & Access

**Q: Where can I find the YuJa Verity link in D2L?** A: If it has been released to your college, you can find it in Existing Activities > External Learning Tools > YuJa Verity. If you don't see it there, check with your local eLearning staff.

**Q: Is there documentation for adding YuJa Verity to D2L?** A: Yes, you can find instructions at: [Adding the YuJa Verity Link on the Content Page](https://help.cccs.edu/space/KnowledgeBase/1002569764/Adding+the+YuJa+Verity+Link+on+the+Content+Page)

**Q: When should we implement YuJa Verity?** A: The system is being implemented for fall semester courses. If your students already use YuJa and have cameras/microphones, you may be able to implement it sooner, but check with your local eLearning staff first.

**Q: Do I need to notify students about proctoring requirements?** A: Yes, students must be notified of proctoring requirements during registration.

**Q: Are all colleges using Verity?** A: Not necessarily. Some colleges may still be piloting Verity or using Honorlock. Instructors should consult their e-learning departments for specific requirements before implementation.

**Q: How long are recordings accessible?** A: Recordings are accessible for a year after the semester ends (We will verify this policy).

## Browser and Technical Requirements

**Q: Which browsers are supported by Verity?** A: Verity works with Google Chrome, ChromeOS, Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Opera.

**Q: Are there any issues with ad blockers?** A: It's recommended to advise students to disable ad blockers when using Verity to avoid potential conflicts.

**Q: Do students need to download anything to use Verity?** A: Yes, students will need to download the Verity browser extension. [YuJa Verity: Verity Lockdown App and Browser Extension Download for Students](https://help.cccs.edu/space/KnowledgeBase/1036681257/YuJa+Verity:+Verity+Lockdown+App+and+Browser+Extension+Download+for+Students#Download-Verity-Lockdown-App)

**Q: What's the difference between the browser extension and lockdown app?** A: The browser extension works within supported browsers, while the lockdown app provides a more secure testing environment. It's recommended that students download the Verity Lockdown App first, then the Browser Extension.

## ID Verification

**Q: How does ID verification work?** A: Verity uses AI to verify student IDs by comparing the photo on the ID with the student's face.

**Q: If a photo on ID does not match the student's face, does Verity stop the student from taking an exam?** A: No, it doesn't stop the student from taking the exam. Verity will flag it for the instructor to review. The instructor can then decide on the appropriate action.

**Q: Why doesn't Verity block students with unmatched IDs?** A: This is for accessibility reasons. In some cases, students may have difficulty holding their ID for the camera, or their appearance may have changed significantly since the photo was taken (for example, an old driver’s license that hasn’t been updated in several years).

**Q: How are ID verification issues handled for students with accommodations?** A: If a student submits an accommodation request, the instructor will know beforehand who needs an ID exemption. Verity allows configuring special settings for students needing accommodation.

## Proctoring Options

**Q: What proctoring options are available in YuJa Verity?** A:

- Live check-in proctoring for STEM courses. **Check with your local eLearning staff for college-specific availability.**
- AI proctoring for all courses (requires advance registration and student notification)

**Q: Are there actual live proctors available?** A: YuJa offers different options:

- AI option: Uses only software to monitor students with no human proctor
- Live Check-In option: YuJa provides a proctor who verifies flags but doesn't actively monitor the entire exam (they only check in when there's a flag and leave notes where applicable)
- Live Proctoring option: **This is not part of the system-wide contract, colleges can opt in by purchasing a license. ** A human proctor monitors the student during the whole exam.

## Exam Setting and Security

**Q: Can students share the exam or have it end up on the internet?** A: There is a risk, but it is recommended to disable the clipboard option to help prevent this.

**Q: Can I allow specific applications like Excel during an exam?** A: Yes, you can configure allowed applications during the setup process.
