> ℹ️ Before you can start your proctored assessment, you will need to download the Verity Lockdown App or the Verity Browser Extension. For best performance, it is recommended to use Google Chrome or the [Verity Lockdown App](https://support.yuja.com/hc/en-us/articles/14203286095767-Downloading-the-Verity-Desktop-Lockdown-App#h_01HA32BZKQVTTG231TX2QNHEY2) to access your proctored assessments. YuJa Verity supports Google Chrome, ChromeOS, Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Opera.
## Proctored Assessments using the Verity Lockdown App
1. Click on the YuJa Verity link from your course content page.
2. From the Assessment Hub, choose your assessment. Click Start.
3. After you click the Start button for your Verity Lockdown App proctored assessment, Verity will launch the App.
4. Either one tab (Windows)
or two tabs (Macs) choose the tab with the portal sign in:
5. The floating window titled “Verity Test Proctoring” can be deleted by clicking on the delete icon or simply ignored.
6. Sign in using your S# and password on the "Login to Community College System" tab.
7. You may briefly see a notice stating “Your browser is looking a little retro…” This will pass in seconds. If it does not, click on the **Got It **button.

## Proctored Assessments using the Browser Extension Download
1. Click on the YuJa Verity link from your course content page.
2. Within the Assessment Hub, locate your desired assessment and click Start. Click Reattempt if you are retaking a proctored assessment. In the instance below, the student does not have a reattempt.
4. The first time you take a browser extension proctored assessment, you will be directed to the Set Up Your YuJa Verity Test Proctoring Experience window.
1. Your browser will be checked to make sure it is supported.
2. It will check to make sure the browser extension is downloaded.
3. It will ask you to Enable Incognito Mode for the Browser Extension.

d. You are now ready to proceed with your assessment. Click Start Assessment
## Proctoring Readiness Check - Utilized by both Verity Lockdown App and Browser Extension Proctored Assessments after Downloading
1. After downloading the [Verity Lockdown App or the Browser Extension](https://cccs-edu.atlassian.net/wiki/pages/resumedraft.action?draftId=1036681257&draftShareId=767aeafa-074a-431e-ac08-e13da8d8431b), choosing your desired assessment, and meeting all other requirements as needed, you will begin the Proctoring Readiness Check.
2. First, read the Privacy and Academic Integrity Agreement and check I understand the information provided above.
3. Click Next.
4. Certain restrictions will be applied to your proctored assessment. Resolve any outstanding requirements and click Next.
> ℹ️ If you need to quit applications to meet the readiness requirements, your operating system may prompt you to enter your username and password to allow force quit actions. Alternatively, you can manually close all other applications.
5. Next tab is System Check.
6. You might be required to set up your camera and microphone. If it is required, select your Video Source and Audio Source from the drop-down menu, then click Confirm.
7. Under System Check, if screen share is required, select the screen on which you will be taking your assessment and make sure to toggle the Also share system audio slide. Click Share.
8. Click Next.
9. If Room Scan is required in your checks, click Room Scan.
10. Click Start Scan in the Room Scan window.
11. Pan your webcam or laptop around to reveal a full 360-degree view of your room. After completing the scan, click End Scan.
12. Review your Room Scan video to check if it meets the scanning requirements. Then, click Upload to upload your room scan.
13. Click Next.
14. If ID Check is required in your checks, hold up your institution or government-issued ID card to the webcam, click Take Photo, and then click Next.

15. To complete the face verification, position your face to the webcam, click Take Photo, and then click Next
16. Once you are satisfied with your photos, click Upload.
17. Click Next.
18. Certain limits will be applied to your proctored assessment. After resolving any outstanding requirements, click Next.
19. Click Start Assessment.
20. This is the student view of the proctored assessment with the sidebar expanded.
21. The sidebar can be collapsed as shown and can be moved around the screen to reduce distraction.
