YuJa Verity is a proctoring solution that allows instructors to create and administer proctored assessments, helping maintain the integrity of exams taken.
Before creating a proctored exam, you will need to:
1. **Add the YuJa Verity Link to the Content Page**
Follow the instructions in the guide linked below to add the YuJa Verity tool to your course content:

2. **Download the Verity Browser Extension**
YuJa Verity supports Google Chrome, ChromeOS, Microsoft Edge, Brave, and Opera. To install the required browser extension:
- Click on the **YuJa Verity **link from your course content page.
- Follow the prompts to download and install the extension.
## Creating a Proctored Quiz
1. Within your course, click the **Quizzes** tab located in the navbar.
2. Click New Quiz.
3. From the right hand side panel, enable Create a proctored environment to safeguard the integrity of your assessment through custom setting. Click **Configure Settings **to access proctor settings for Verity.
4. Select your proctoring method and click **Next** to continue.
- **Automated Proctoring (Not Live): **Test-takers will not be monitored in real-time during their assessment.
- **Live Proctoring:** **CCCS is currently not licensed for live proctoring. **This option will be greyed out.
- **Live Check-In: **Proctors can join and view a test-taker's environment when issues are flagged.
** Note: Live Check-In will be available for STEM courses only.**
5. Select the **platform **you'd like to enable and click Next.
**Browser Extension:** Offers standard proctoring features through the Verity Browser Extension within compatible browsers.
**Desktop Lockdown App:** Offers additional security features that can be applied to safeguard the integrity of quizzes.
**Mobile Lockdown App: **If selected, only standard proctoring features will be available to allow assessments to be taken on the Mobile Lockdown App.
Supported devices currently include Android and iOS (iPhone and iPad).
**Note: **YuJa Verity now extends its ChromeOS compatibility to include secure lockdown assessments through a specialized extension that provides desktop-level security features. Building on existing Chromebook support for extension assessments, ChromeOS users can now access the full range of proctoring options through managed guest sessions while maintaining institutional security requirements.
6. Select which configurations you would like enabled and click Next to continue. **Note**: **Learn more about ****[Verity's configurations](https://support.yuja.com/hc/en-us/articles/18378524033559)****.**
### Additional features
**Ability to Attach “Scrap Page” and Test Notes in the Lockdown App Using the Webcam**
Test-takers taking lockdown assessments can now photograph and submit handwritten notes through their webcam, which gives instructors more visibility into the problem-solving process.
7. (Optional) Set up accommodations to allow specific test-takers to take the assessment without being proctored or with a different proctoring profile.
8. Click **Next**.
9. Review your settings.
10. If you want to save these proctoring configurations for future assessments, click** Save as Profile**.
11. Click Confirm.
**Recommendation: **We recommend creating a *practice exam* for any course that uses YuJa Verity. The practice exam is quick and easy to set up and gives students a ‘no stakes’ practice to be sure they can take their exams. It can help prevent last-minute technical issues and ensure a smoother testing experience.
## How to Create a Verity Practice Assessment
1. Log in to your course and select the YuJa Verity link in Content.
2. Select **Create Assessment.**
3. Click Create Practice Assessment
After creating a practice assessment, you can configure the assessment details and proctoring settings, such as ID verification settings, according to your assessment needs.
- Locate the created assessment with the **YuJa Verity Practice Assessment** title, and click the **More Actions** icon. Click **Edit Settings**
- On the quiz editing page, click **Configure Settings** in the side panel to customize the proctoring settings for Verity.
### **On-Campus Proctoring and Testing Center Availability**
For in person proctoring, testing centers are available at some colleges to assist students, but their availability depends on each college's policies and current capacity. Instructors may direct them to the [24/7 Helpdesk](https://help.cccs.edu/) or call 1-888-800-9198 or their home college Student Services.

#### **Testing Center options: **
- Pueblo Community College accepts students from other colleges for testing.
- Red Rocks Community College accepts students from other colleges, including those enrolled in online programs.
- Arapahoe Community College prioritizes testing services for their students. They will accommodate students coming from other colleges as well, depending on availability.
- Pikes Peak State College does not offer proctoring services for online classes and therefore does not have proctoring software installed in their testing centers.
