Troubleshooting Login
This article discusses troubleshooting issues with logging into Blackboard Vista.

Step #1

Make sure you are logging into the correct college Blackboard Vista portal.

If the section number for your course starts with a "C" (example: ENG 121-C11), you will need to use the CCCOnline portal.

To access a list of all the college Blackboard Vista portals, go to http://cccs.blackboard.com.

Step #2

Students are not uploaded to Blackboard Vista until a couple of days prior to the start of class.

If you are a student trying to access Blackboard Vista prior to this, please try again the day before your course starts.

Exception: Students taking CCCOnline courses (course section starts with a "C") will be uploaded to the CCCOnline Blackboard Vista portal 48 hours after registering for CCCOnline courses so they can access the Student Orientation course.

Important!: Once students login to Blackboard Vista, links to courses will not appear until the date the course is scheduled to start.

Step #3

Be sure you are using your S# (not your social security number) for your User Name.

For help with your S#, see the User Name/Password article.

Step #4

Your password is the first six characters of the PIN you use to login to the student registration system (also known as MyEducation or Self-Service Banner (SSB)).

The registration or Banner system doesn't mind if you type in more than six characters when you enter your PIN, but Blackboard Vista does!  Please enter only the first six characters of your PIN.

Forgot your PIN?  Call the 24X7 Blackboard Vista Technical Support Help Desk toll free number, 1-888-800-9198 or submit a problem at http://help.cccs.edu.

Step #5

Make sure you set your browser to allow popup windows for cccs.blackboard.com.

See the Run Check Browser article to check to see if your browser is configured properly.

Step #6

Make sure you have a validated version of Java (Java 6 Update 5 or higher) on your computer.

See the Run Check Browser article to check to see if you have a validated version of Java installed on your computer.

Step #7

If you have a firewall, make sure cccs.blackboard.com is set as a trusted site for your firewall.

If you do not know how to do this, you will need to contact your firewall vendor or if you are using a computer at your place of employment, you will need to contact your IT department.

Step #8

Still having problems?

Call the 24X7 Blackboard Vista Technical Support Help Desk toll free number, 1-888-800-9198, or submit the problem at http://help.cccs.edu
